Breaking Bad Heisenberg Portrait Typography by darrenOhhh Breaking Bad Heisenberg Portrait Typography by darrenOhhh
Who doesn't like Breaking Bad!? It's my favourite show and there's only one episode left!
Anyway! In viscom, we had to make a poster with the theme of typography in viscom this year. I used Illustrator to morph text around the facial features of Mr White and imported this into Photoshop to show only the text on the face. I saw a couple of other pictures on the internet with a similar type of style, and with my limited knowledge of Illustrator I managed to achieve a similar effect! :)

It's blue because of Heisenberg's 'blue meth' and features quotes and key-words from Breaking Bad.

Programs used: Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop cs5.1
Fonts used: Impact

Thanks! :D Well, it's not too difficult if you're familiar with Illustrator/Photoshop. What you have to do is put the picture in Illustrator and morph text around main features (I think Ctrl+M is the shortcut), and make sure this is on a different layer. After you have finished that, save it and put it in Photoshop with the picture behind it. Now select the outline of the text (Ctrl + Click Layer Preview), and then Select Inverse (Select>Inverse) and press delete while on the picture layer.
That's how to do the main part! I put a black background behind the text so it stood out more and made a background behind the whole thing.

Hope this is clear enough for you!

Me too - thanks for that explanation. Maybe I'll try it in GIMP. (I really have only used traditional media before.) Also, I can't remember where many of the quotes are from exactly - makes me want to watch it all again, but I don't have time, unfortunately.
